Oakland is home to the West Coast undergraduate campus of the Northeastern University global network, offering academic programs and experiential learning opportunities that reflect the entrepreneurial spirit of the Bay Area. Oakland is also the focal point of Mills College at Northeastern, the 10th college in the university.

To meet the immediate needs of students and faculty on the Oakland campus please consider a gift to the Dean’s Fund for Mills’ Greatest Need.

The Oakland campus also bears the legacy of its longtime custodian, Mills College, which merged with Northeastern after 170 years as an independent liberal arts college serving women and gender nonbinary undergraduates and all genders at the graduate level. The people, culture, and programming here continue to demonstrate a commitment to advancing gender and racial justice, now through the Mills Institute; showcasing creative experimentation through Mills Performing Arts and the Mills College Art Museum; pursuing sustainable practices, including growing community food on the campus farm; and equipping the educators of today with the tools to transform teaching and learning through the Lead by Learning Program and the Mills College Children’s School.

While exploring the funds that bolster these programs, please also consider the Mills Legacy Scholarship Fund, which supports women and gender nonbinary students on the Oakland campus, in keeping with Mills’ traditional admissions policy.

We invite you to make an impact in the area most important to you with your gift.
