Club - Live Music Association
Live Music Association is a completely student-run group bridging the gap between what is learned in class and what is applied in a show setting. Our club largely consists of non-music industry majors by chance, so it allows students who have an extracurricular interest in concerts and live entertainment to get hands on experience running a show in Afterhours and meet peers that have the same interests. We aim to bring the music community of Northeastern closer together with every meeting and event. Past acts we have brought to campus in our LMA Presents series include Oh Wonder, Still Woozy, Duckwrth, Kississippi, Adult Mom, Noname, Aaron Carter, Poppy, The Districts, The Drums, Hoodie Allen, Us The Duo, Phoebe Ryan, Ashe, Howie Day, Against the Current, Kevin Garrett, SALES, Owen, Ra Ra Riot, Matt & Kim, among many others over the past 7 years. Live also assists the university in bringing industry professionals to campus for various performances, lectures and also for events such as the Music Major Co-Op Panel. Some previous guest speakers and performers include Kevin Lyman -Warped Tour/Taste Of Chaos Tour Founder, Joey Kramer- Drummer of Aerosmith, Mike Dreese - Founder of Newbury Comics, John Esposito-President of WEA, Keith Garde- PAID Celebrity Services, Sherry Winston-jazz musician/entrepreneur, Jacob Slichter of the platinum-selling band Semisonic, and Daniel Glass- Founder of Glassnote Records.
