The Northeastern Figure Skating Club is a group of 75 passionate figure skaters who come from a wide variety of skating backgrounds and strive to continue their skating career throughout their time at Northeastern. Skaters come from backgrounds ranging from ice dance, freestyle, and synchronized skating, and some compete for the team while others are continuing their passion recreationally. The team has grown substantially in the last several seasons due to the generous donations of our donors and extensive work to increase opportunities on and off the ice for our members. Our team is truly a family, and we are working towards qualifying for the US Figure Skating Intercollegiate Final each year. This season was our strongest yet: we frequently placed in the top 6 in our conference, hosted our annual holiday ice show, held our second spring ice show, and hired two new coaches to support us during the maternity leave of one of our head coaches, amongst many other new initiatives. We are the 2020-21 Northeastern Club Sport of the Year and the 2021-22 Northeastern Club Sport E-Board of the Year. The team practices at Matthews Arena throughout the year, where practices are also attended by our three current coaches and choreographer who offer private lessons.
