School of Journalism Fund
CAMD’s School of Journalism merges journalism’s traditional values of ethnics and social justice with media innovation, data, and technology, allowing us to keep pace with the changing ways news is delivered and received in the digital age. Students have the opportunity to work directly with Pulitzer Prize and Emmy Award–winning faculty, including Walter Robinson and Matt Carroll, who were on the investigative reporting team in the Academy Award–winning movie “Spotlight.”
The School of Journalism Fund offers scholarships to our talented students, supports faculty research, and bolsters data storytelling and investigative journalism initiatives. It helps us bring industry leaders to campus, delivering real-world experiences in a classroom setting and offering networking opportunities to our students. With the help of this fund, we were able to bring in speakers from the Boston Globe, the Washington Post and Frontline. This fund also made it possible for us to create a new video lab and The Docket, which is our interdisciplinary and data-driven media lab focused on exploring urban inequalities, patterns of health and well-being, and violence.
