Club Sports - Rock Climbing

The Northeastern Climbing Team is the official competitive rock climbing team sanctioned through Northeastern University Club Sports. Founded in 2014, the team competes on the USA Climbing Collegiate circuit–with multiple athletes making it to Nationals each year. The team has won a New England Regional Championship as well as placed as high as second at the National Championships. In 2023, the team sent 7 athletes to Nationals–2 of which made a finals round.

A roster of 24 (12 male and 12 female), the team regularly trains at Central Rock Gyms in and around the Boston area. Tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester and are open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Many team members also compete at local competitions such as the Dark Horse series. In addition to training and competing, the team prioritizes giving back to the community and protecting New England’s natural resources by completing a service project once a year.
