Club - Behind the SMILE (Suicide and Mental Illness Education)

Behind the SMILE (Suicide and Mental Illness Education) is a student group at Northeastern University that aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide, and to connect students with the resources they need. We do this through
  • Building community among students affected by mental illness and suicide, and empowering them to reach out for help.
  • Raising awareness about the prevalence of mental illness in college communities, and providing students with the knowledge and tools they need to help a friend who is struggling.
  • Advocating for change around on-campus mental health services and university policies to ensure that students are receiving the quality of care they deserve.
