    January 26, 2012 - Lisa Feldman Barrett (right), Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Interdisciplinary Affective Science Laboratory, works with post-doctoral fellow Christy Wilson-Mendenhall (left). Dr. BarrettÕs research focuses on the nature of emotion from both psychological and neuroscience perspectives, and takes inspiration from anthropology, philosophy, and linguistics. Her lab takes an interdisciplinary perspective approach, and incorporates methods from social, clinical, and personality psychology, psychophysiology, cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, and visual cognition.

The purpose of the fund is to provide resources needed for faculty and students in the Affective Science Institute to use experiential, behaviorial, psychophysiological, and brain-imaging techniques to study emotion from the perspectives of both psychology and neuroscience, with major implications for security and health.
